Real, significant, academic achievement is possible with
Neighborhood Schools
Our teachers and school administrators are making a terrific effort, but it takes more than just schools to educate our children. It is our responsibility as a community to provide our students with the best education possible. As a Governing Board Member, I will work to actively engage and invest families and neighbors in our students’ success. This level of accountability is absolutely essential in actualizing my vision of real, significant, academic achievement.
I strongly believe that Creighton must remain locally controlled. I am opposed to unification and consolidation plans of the School District Redistricting Commission of the Arizona State Legislature. The School District Merger Proposal is not focused on student achievement, and it offers no evidence that it would streamline financial resources. The proposed mega-district plan would increase bureaucracy and further alienate families and neighbors from school involvement, ultimately negatively impacting student achievement.
I support the efforts already set in motion in Creighton to redesign some of our schools to better serve our students and community. This process engages more of our community and increases opportunity, ownership, and investment of our schools and students’ success.
I want to know which education issues are most important to you.
